Money Saving Tips!

Do you know the feeling of getting a really great deal or saving a lot of money?? It is such a great feeling! So I am always interested in finding more ways to save! So now I want to share some of my tips for saving money, and even earning money.
These are "extreme couponing" kinds of tips. These are practical easy things that I use to save/earn money. I will update this page with more ideas, so keep checking back!

  1. RetailMeNot

This is an app that I downloaded on my phone! It is SO EASY to use.
1. Download and open the application
2. search for the store/restaurant you are looking for
3. choose whether you are using it in-store or online
4. Make sure to read the fine print. there may be restrictions.
5. show the coupon to the cashier or use the code when checking out online.

It is that easy!
Advantages: Now I don't need to carry around Ruby Tuesday coupons.  You can also use a "Nearby" option and it will tell you what deals are offered near you!
But be careful, not every store who offers paper coupons is on this app. For example, Dick's Sporting Goods is not on there. So if you forget your coupon at home you can't access it on there.

     2. Groupon!

Oh my goodness! This is one of my favorites and it amazes me that there are some people who still haven't heard of this! You can use it on the computer, or a mobile app. I have noticed groupons on each that isn't on the other. But I use the mobile app most often because it is really easy to just pull up a purchased groupon when you get to the restaurant.

After you download the app (or sign in on the computer), you can create your profile. You can select the city nearest to you, or even a city you will be visiting.
There is an option to search Nearby Groupons, and this will show you options near your current location.

You can also search restaurants, goods, clothes, spa treatments, hotels, and even vacation packages! I have used all of these and had great experiences. Just the other night, my husband and I tried a new restaurant with a Groupon that I purchased for $15 and had a $30 value.

The instructions are easy! But it is important to follow the instructions. If the hotel says that you need to call the hotel to complete your reservation, you need to do that. Or if a restaurant says the Groupon is only valid Monday-Thursdays, that is the only day they will accept it. But all restrictions and instructions included, there are some INCREDIBLE deals on here.
Another really cool feature - You can gift in Groupon. You can send it directly to their email. Here is an example of a massage I sent to a friend.

Something to note - there are expiration dates. However, the value you paid for the Groupon does not expire. If I pay $15 for a $30 groupon and I let it expire, I can still use the Groupon as a gift card for the $15 that I paid. Bottom line, you don't lose money! You can only save!

Another note - I have ordered a few gifts in the past that haven't been delivered. I ordered a set of OPI Halloween nail polish that was never delivered. I emailed Groupon and they took care of everything! there customer service has been VERY helpful over the years!

I have MANY more tips, so keep checking back!
